At Oka-B, we have so much fun working around the office and getting things done, but we especially have fun when we are on location for a photo shoot!
We traveled to Charleston, SC for our Summer 2017 Look Book and had such a BLAST that we decided to give everyone a behind the scenes look at what going on. When we began to develop the Summer campaign, we wanted to focus on the playfulness and fun that we at Oka-B thrive to achieve. We soon realized that a Girl’s Day Out in Charleston was just what the Oka-B needed!
While we were location scouting, we found beautiful places, such as Rainbow Row and Waterfront Park. We were able to stroll throughout the Historic District. We found some great vendors in the Market. (I fell in love with a skin care product called Face Dirt!) We wore our McKenzie in Sea Glass and Azalea while going from venue to venue to find the perfect place for our shoot! We met with our Hair & Make up team and our Photographers over Brunch. And yes, we were sporting our Isla in Salt!
After a full week of searching, we found two amazing locations including Waterfront Park and Carmilla’s Dessert Bar! Also, we made two great connections with clothing companies – Cotton & Pearls and Lily Rain.

After several sleepless nights, we finally had everything planned and ready for the Photo shoot. With a big cup of coffee in hand, we ventured our first location to begin our 8 hour shoot! We had so much fun with the staff at Carmella’s Dessert Bar and their desserts are as tasty as beautiful! Yes, our models were so cute take selfies and snapchat during the shoot!
After wrapping up at our first location, we had to walk a few blocks to Waterfront Park. Yes, we used a bouquet of balloons to help us keep together while walking around downtown Charleston.
Soon we were ready for our final location – Waterfront park! We had so many great image options with the fountains, the pier and the lawn.

We made friends with a 17 year old local pup named Grace!
Our models had a lot of fun on set, but when it came to camera time they were all work! Yes, they did have to practices feet posing. Thank goodness, they had dancing experience!
As the mid-day sun starting to get high in the sky, we had trouble with light being too harsh. After a 8 hour on-location, we called wraps! Look for the new Summer Collection going live in a month! We can’t wait to share the new collections and the images with you.
